We attempt to dig deeper the meaning of Easter. Many of us associate Easter mostly with eggs. Being curious of the many layers of possibilities within eggs in metaphorical ways, we pose this question to ourselves - “What is it about the eggs that mean so much to us?”
Luna initiates the relationships between eggs as a 'home' to something. Isn't it beautiful to hear this beginning thought of seeing eggs as homes? This beginning thought ripples to others as more friends come up with possibilities of sense of warmth and kindness through an expression of home.
Nudging a beautiful idea of adopting animal friends in need to be part of our homes intrigues others to offer differing thoughts.
Working with our scissors skills promotes bilateral coordination - necessary to hold scissors in one hand and hold paper in the other. We work with different shapes which requires more precision and strategies to cut along the lines this time round for our storyboards.
Transferring ideas from a two dimensional representation to three dimensional has been carried forward by us through our arrangement and re-arrangement of twigs.
"I am making windows. That's why we can make a house like that!" - Luna
Sometimes we work in silence following the flow of our ideas leading our fingers.
"When we want to make the bed balance, we cut the twigs down here." - Elie
“What can we be done?” is fiction book that triggers children’s interests when they notice its cover page. It shares the situation of climate change and impacts on the arctic animals including the white polar bears.
The above interest sparks another possibility to make connections with our current inquiry about homes. If the sea ice of the Arctic Ocean is the home for polar bears, how is this situation going to work for them? This exposure has certainly raised our awareness of this current issue.
Some thoughts have been further exchanged and thoughtful points-of-views have been collected. The question posed this time is about "What can we do to help?".
"I need to find his mom" - Felix
"I will find his mom and my mom will find him." - Fides
Elie shares her concerns by thinking about lifting up her prayers whereas Luna thinks about Christmas to have more ice to share with the polar bears. Many times we may not have the answers right away and we agree to conclude with some lingering thoughts for the time being and being open to more possibilities.
