Armed with our knowledge about birds and their habits, we set out to engage our minds in the art of storytelling. Our approach? A hands-on learning experience that will ignite our imagination and creativity: crafting bird stories using nature’s own treasures. Before diving into the storytelling process, we question ourselves to envision the elements we wish to incorporate into our tales. With eager anticipation, we brainstorm scenes of nest-building, egg-hatching, and airborne adventures. Vivaan, Lukah, Nora, Margo explaining how we want to create our story and what it will contain. But instead of reaching for pen and paper, we present ourselves with an array of natural materials - branches, moss, leaves, feathers - and a humble bottle of glue. Our plan? To bring our stories to life by arranging and pasting down these natural elements. As we set to work, a tangible sense of excitement fills the air. Twigs become sturdy perches, leaves transform into verdant canopies, and feathers take flight as a symbol of exploration. With each delicate placement and strategic application of glue, we imbue our creations with a sense of authenticity and wonder. Our stories begin to take shape, unfolding before our eyes. As our discussion deepens, we find ourselves pondering the essence of a story. Margo muses that a story unfolds as we read, with each turn of the page revealing new depths. Nora chimes in, suggesting that flipping through the pages is akin to navigating the journey of a tale. Vivaan adds a nuanced perspective, noting that sometimes we may flip the pages without truly absorbing the content. In our exploration, we also recognize the fundamental structure of a story, encapsulated in its beginning, middle, and ending. These three pillars provide the framework for narratives to flourish and captivate audiences. Eager to put theory into practice, we invite ourselves to participate in an interactive exercise. Each one of us has a piece of paper, divided into three sections, representing the above. With pencils poised and imaginations ignited, we embark on the creative journey of crafting our own narratives. To enrich our learning experience, we are guided to share our stories with one another, emphasizing the significance of effective communication and descriptive language. This collaborative process fosters empathy and understanding as we listen to and empathize with peers’ experiences. Wishing Fides a blast of love and interesting moments in his journey of turning 4! Happy birthday, dearest! Kindest,
Children & Friends.
