Our exploration of water continues to flow with curiosity and creativity! As we dive deeper through drawing and storytelling, we are discovering just how vivid and dynamic this adventure can be. When invited to illustrate our own unique vessels for navigating water, Kai adds a wonderfully imaginative twist. He mentions, "A boat filled with friendly, living sharks who gladly share the space so everyone can fit in!" This playful creation is more than just fun! It is a reminder of how imagination empowers us to reimagine the world around us. Kai's drawing invites us to see the possibilities in cooperation, kindness, and the unexpected joy of thinking beyond the ordinary. Nora, on the other hand, offers a different perspective. One that takes us beneath the surface. She illustrates a sunken ship resting quietly on the bed of the water, inviting us to think about mystery, and unseen stories that lie below. Her thoughtful rendering expands our view, reminding us that exploration is not only about what lies on the surface, but also about the layers hidden beneath. Together, these artworks show the many layers of water and wonder. Above, within, and below. Building on the momentum of our drawings, we begin to move from two-dimensional representations to three-dimensional creations. With this shift, a new kind of complexity arises. For some, the transition feels natural. Our hands seems to intuitively know where each wooden popsicle belongs, aligning and connecting materials. There is a tactile rhythm to this work, a deep focus that comes from shaping something real in space. This step invites new problem-solving, fresh perspectives, and a deeper engagement with form, balance, and structure. Our exploration continues. Now not just in what we imagine, but in what we build. Some are drawn to structure, carefully considering the width. For example, how wide a piece should be to hold, balance, or extend. Others consider speed, working with energy, momentum and flow. And then there are those who simply take a chance to dive in with curiosity, seeing what emerges along the way, Each approach is valid, each one revealing something different about how we learn, explore, and create. Often, the most fulfilling process of our construction journey comes when we finally get to test what we have built. To see if it holds, moves, floats, or flies just as we imagine. In that moment, we are not just testing a structure. We are testing ideas, hopes, and the courage to try. This process reminds us what life offers us, too. Some we plan for, some we meet with surprise. What matters is not only how we build, but how we respond. How we adapt, reflect, and begin again. In our hands-on work, we discover not just how things function, but we, too, grow. As we grow each day, we are steadily processing through the process. Change is on its way. And it is already beginning to show. The changes are not just in height or age, but in confidence, curiosity, and kindness. Step by step, we have learned to share, to explore, to express, and to imagine. Our journey so far has been filled with little triumphs that have brought us closer to big dreams. Our conversation take us into the future as we ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The answers are full of excitement, energy, and personality. Lukas shares that he wants to be a race car driver. Kai proudly says, “I want to be a jet pilot, because I like jets,” showing his love for speed and adventure. Kalyan also says he wants to be a race car driver and gives us a wonderful demonstration, using his arms and body to show how he steers and speeds around. Emily says with a smile, “When I grow up, I want to be a truck driver, my dad’s truck driver because of my mom,” showing how family inspires her dream. Tvisha expresses, “I want to be a pilot, because I want to fly an airplane,” fascinated by the idea of soaring through the sky. Ryan also shares that he wants to be a pilot, joining Tvisha and Kai in dreams of flight. These moments are special because they show us how children connect their dreams to what they see, feel, and experience every day. It also gives us a chance to learn more about their interests and what motivates them—whether it’s the thrill of speed, the inspiration of family, or the excitement of flying high. We set off on our field trip to Hazelgrove Park. Excitement fills the air as we arrive and see both the big playground and the water spray park. Some friends prefer to spend most of their time exploring the playground, climbing, sliding, and using our problem-solving skills on the different structures. Others enjoy staying at the water spray park, running through the sprinklers, splashing, and laughing together as we cool off in the summer sun. This field trip give us opportunities to make choices about how we want to spend our playtime and encourage us to engage in both active and social play in different settings.
