Counting Our Blessings

This week, we are embracing a slower pace. Taking time to breathe, reflect, and be present. With graduation just around the corner for some of our dear friends, we want to dedicate these days to celebration and appreciation. Let this be a meaningful moment to cherish the journey, the friendships, and all that lies ahead.

As we slow down and take time to cherish the journey we have shared, we are also celebrating the beauty of transformation. Just like in the magic milk experiment, where some drops of color sets everything into motion, each of us has had a moment. A conversation, a challenge, and a friendship. All of these creates ripple effects in our lives.
The swirling colors in the milk are a reminder of how different elements like our experiences, emotions, and dreams come together to create something unexpectedly beautiful. As our friends prepare to graduate, we honor those colorful moments, the changes they have embraced, and the bright paths ahead.

"It's like sharing a power", Nora highlights, watching the colors swirl and dance in the milk. In that simple moment, she names something profound. Transformation does not happen alone. Just like the soap activates the colors in the experiment, it often takes a spark from someone else to set change in motion.
In that moment, we see not just an experiment, but a metaphor for what this week is about. Just as soap touches the milk and suddenly everything begins to move, we have all been touched by each other's presence, kindness, and support.

She adds, "This looks like a plane and it has wings".

And like the place Nora sees in the colors, we are preparing to take off. Graduation is just ahead for some of our friends, and with it, the chance to soar. This calm weeks becomes our runway. A moment to reflect, hold space for each other, and imagine what lies beyond the horizon.

We choose to work with self-portraits as it offers us a powerful way to explore identity, build self-awareness, and express ourselves with confidence. Through our skin color-related paint, we learn to observe our own features, recognize emotions, and make intentional choices.

This learning experience supports not only personal expression but also communication and memory-keeping, capturing who we are at a particular moment in time. Whether using mirrors, photographs, or simply imagination, self-portrait projects can be from simple line drawings, to layered collages.

Emily takes her self portrait for a closer look. She tilts her head slightly, studying the colors, the choices she has made. In that moment, she is not just looking at a painting. She is looking at herself, through her green hazel eyes.

This  small gesture holds something powerful. It is a moment of recognition, of self-awareness. Through her art, Emily is exploring who she is and how she sees herself in the world.

Self-portraits like are more than creative expressions to us. They are mirrors of identity, growth, and confidence. They remind us that we are not just learning to draw; we are learning to see ourselves. Ultimately, creating a self-portrait is more than a learning experience. It is a meaningful step in the journey of self-discovery.

Creating a self-portrait is also about Nora paying attention to the details of our features. The shape of her nose, the curve of her smile, the way her eyes sit beneath her brows. These small observations invite us to slow down and really see ourselves, not just as we imagine, but as we are.

Through this careful looking, we practice mindfulness, develop observational skills, and begin to appreciate the uniqueness of our own appearance. It is not just about making a picture. It is about noticing, honoring, and expressing the little details that make us us.
Luka works with his body in rhythmic movement, his gestures flowing with intention and energy. Each stroke, each motion, becomes part of a silent dance. An expression not only of what he is creating, but how he is feeling.

In these moments, art becomes physical. The body leads, and the marks follow. Luka's movement reminds us that creativity is not just a mental act. It lives in the whole body. Rhythm, motion, and presence all become tools for expression, especially for Luka still learning to connect his inner experiences with the outer world.
The way we practice understanding our lines and motions unfolds through a wide range of moments. Some focused, some playful, some quiet, and some full of discovery. Each mark we make is part of a process: learning how our hands move, how our eyes observe, and how our inner world takes shape on the page.
Even in simple games like What’s the Time, Me. Wolf?, we are learning in meaningful ways. As we count our steps, we are practicing early math skills. When we listen closely for the wolf’s call, we are strengthening focus and self-regulation. Waiting for our turn and responding teaches patience and cooperation.

Most of all, this game brings joy, laughter, and movement. It shows us that play is not just fun, but a powerful way for us to grow into confidence, coordination, and connection with others.

Finally, the day has arrived! Cooking our own cupcakes as part of our graduation celebration has become a special tradition. We take pride in measuring, mixing, and creating something we can share together. This experience is more than just baking. It invites us to practice teamwork, patience, and independence while celebrating an important milestone.

Each cupcake carries not only sweetness but also the joy of accomplishment and the memory of a shared journey as we prepare to step into our next chapter.

The tradition of celebration has been our symbol of the friendship built, the laughter shared, and the many moments of learning and growing side by side. As we gather to enjoy them, we are reminded that our journey has been the sweetest because we have taken it together.

Thank you parents for marking the transition! Graduation is both an ending and a beginning. A love letter or expression acknowledges the journey so far while blessing the path ahead.

We are so blessed to have all of you with us! Each child’s journey has been made richer by the love, care, and encouragement of each family. We keep counting our blessings to be surrounded by such warmth and support.

The celebration is not only about the children stepping into a new chapter. It is also about the community that has grown. Together, we have shared laughter, milestones, and countless little moments of joy.
As we send off our graduates with love, we do so with grateful hearts knowing that the spirit of togetherness will always remain a part of our story. Thank you for walking alongside us. Today, and always!

Kindest,
Children & Friends.
